Kellogg Ban

Posted by Stacey Stultz on Dec.14, 2008

Which would you prefer to feed your family- sugar the way nature intended or sugar from a genetically modified plant that is capable of withstanding massive doses of weed killer? Apparently, Kellogg’s President David MacKay thinks he knows your answer. In a letter sent to Organic Consumer’s Association dated June 27, 2008 he indicated that the US market does not care whether or not GE ingredients are used. So, GE sugar beets will be added to Kellogg products this year. He also said that Europe does not want GE foods, so they will not receive GE foods.

Organic Consumer’s Association and allies are calling for a ban on all Kellogg products to send a message that the US does not want untested and unlabeled GE foods slipped into our foods.

We ask that all of you Green Diva Moms take 5 minutes or less to join with us and do one of the following as suggested by OCA:

Sign OCA’s Petition http://salsa.democracyinaction.org/o/642/petition.jsp?petition_KEY=1300

Call Kellogg’s and let them know how you feel http://organicconsumers.org/ge/CallKelloggs.htm

Send a letter to a local editor http://salsa.democracyinaction.org/o/642/letter/letter_KEY=1009

Green Diva Moms can make a difference- let your voice be heard. By posting this, I am not promoting Kellogg’s as a brand I would choose, I am simply saying Kellogg’s should not say American’s don’t care about GE ingredients. Personally, I don’t buy anything in a box.
