Have you had a green smoothie yet? If you haven’t tried one of these vitamin rich smoothies, you’re in for a treat. It’s possible you’ll even convert your whole family into eating more healthy green veggies. Green smoothies are fruit smoothies that have leafy vegetables mixed in. Made with leafy greens that are loaded with antioxidants and vitamins, green smoothies are an excellent way to enjoy a delicious drink that satisfies hunger and offers maximum nutrition. They are a great source of calcium, magnesium and Vitamin C.
If you want to start with smoothies, but don’t know exactly what to put in them, I have included some common ingredients that may help.
Examples of greens you might use include: Lettuce, Spinach, Chard, Kale
It’s a good idea to use fruits in addition to these green ingredients. There are two reasons for this: One, it masks the leafy flavors that you might not enjoy. Two, it adds another nutritious punch to the mix. You have so many different choices when it comes to fruit.
Here are a few favorites: Strawberries, Blueberries, Bananas and Mangoes
By experimenting with different combinations, you will be able to come up with something that you and the whole family will love. You’ll even have an easier time getting your children on board to adopting a healthier diet.
Most people like smoothies because of how delicious they are, so it shouldn’t be hard to persuade everyone. However, green smoothies are only as good as the recipes, so you’ll want to read and compare different recipes as a starting point for developing your own.
