Does the holiday’s constant repetition of Ruldolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer have your kids yearning to meet a real reindeer, face-to-antlers? Many zoos have visiting or traveling reindeer exhibits during December and January to coincide with Christmas festivities. These eight zoos have year-round reindeer exhibits.
Cougar Mountain Zoo, 19525 SE 54th Street, Issaquah, Washington. This zoo’s Reindeer World houses the largest herd of Siberian reindeer in the US.
San Diego Zoo in the Polar Rim exhibit, 2920 Zoo Drive, Balboa Park, California.
Brookfield Zoo, 8401 31st St, Brookfield, Illinois, just outside Chicago. The reindeer are in the Children’s Zoo.
GarLyn Zoo on US-2 6 miles east of Naubinway, Michigan.
Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, 3900 Wildlife Way, Cleveland, Ohio.
Stone Zoo, 149 Pond Street, Stoneham, Massachusetts. The Yukon Creek exhibit houses their reindeer herd.
Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo, 1875 Noble Avenue, Bridgeport, Connecticut.
Edinburgh Zoo, Corstorphine Road, Edinburgh, Scotland. The reindeer are at the top of Zoo Hill.
