Cuisinart GreenGourmet
Thanks to new green cookware options you can say goodbye to toxic Teflon pans filled with dangerous chemicals that off-gas into the air and can possibly leach into your food.
Cuisinart’s line of non-stick cookware is PTFE and PFOA free, which means that it contains none of the nasty chemicals that Teflon and similar non-stick coatings are formulated with.
Cuisinart’s GreenGourmet pans are petroleum free, have a hard anodized interior, an aluminum alloy core, and a Cuisinart Ceramica (TM) interior which is what makes the pan non-stick.
So what does all this mean? Keep reading to find out.
The Green Gourmet line by Cuisinart is very green. It is eco-friendly in many ways: the pans are constructed with energy savings in mind, the anodized material provides superior heat conductivity which requires less energy to heat, the stainless steel handle is made from 70% recycled stainless steel and it stays cool even while the pan is super hot. The best and most important part is the non-stick surface. No toxins here - it is actually made from ceramic, which means no petroleum-based chemicals.
The pan is great for on top of the stove and it is oven and broiler safe. You can’t get that from a plastic-handled traditional non-stick coated pan; all that ick would melt all over the oven. The Green Gourmet pans won’t.
I received a 10 inch Green Gourmet skillet over a year ago to review. I am happy to say the pan has survived our rigorous tests and doesn’t even have a scratch on it. That’s pretty good for a pan that gets used pretty much every day at least once.
My family loves the Green Gourmet pan. Especially my husband -all he can say is good things about the GreenGourmet hard anodized skillet. He really loves that it heats up fast and stays hot for a long time. Cooking with the pan is super easy, there is no sticking. And clean up….it’s a breeze.
Our family is so cooked on CuisineArts’ GreenGourmet pans that we want an entire set.
They have a 12 piece set we’re looking at. We have added it to our wish lists.
I am so thrilled to have found a line of green cookware that actually does what it says. Its green and it is heavy duty and built to last. Just remember you need to treat it well and use plastic, wood or bamboo utensils so you don’t chip the ceramic coating.
Even the packaging is green. The cardboard semi box over the skillet part of the pan is made from 100% recycled materials and is printed with soy ink. The only downfall is that the pans and box are made in China. If they were made in the USA everything about the product would get an A+ rating. Now I give it an A- just for being made in China- other than that this is a fabulous green product.
