Its time of kids’ holiday. They are very much around the house and you still have lots of holiday shopping, decorations, gift wrapping and holiday cooking left for the upcoming party. In this busy time, you need to take care of everything around you. Don’t lose your temper and stay calm. A little extra planning  will make your party a stress-free experience for you.

Some important points to keep in mind:

Start planning four to six weeks before you have a party. Don’t let the holiday season run you. Plan each day so that you know  what is ahead the next day and you prepare yourself according to that. The schedule can also be displayed in kitchen or any other place where all family members can actually see it and expect the things. This makes the task of preparations for the party go smoothly.

The guest list should be prepared at least a month before. Make use of technology and send e-invites to everyone.

Make the menu and list even the smallest thing that you would need on the party day. Find what you have and what you need to buy. You might need a sufficient quantity of serving platters, plates, glassware and silverware for all of your guests. Arrange for a large table for the food and a smaller table for drinks.

Shop before party time. Don’t wait for the last minute’s deals and sales. Shopping and party arrangements, both together, will only make you more stressed. Thus, finish shopping early so that you can be at home for a few day looking at and making arrangements. Online shopping is a great way of avoiding the last minute mad rush of getting gifts and saves your time, money and gas.

Find some arrangement for your kids. Find out from your friends or the family members if they have some plans to go out. You may find some care for your kids with a little adjustment. This time can be utilized for shopping, cooking or relaxing.

Make a clear cut list of what gifts you plan to give to whom. This makes shopping easy and you get less confused and make decision quickly without wasting time in running from one corner of the shopping mall to the other corner. Don’t forget to have enough back up plan for gifts.

Involve your children by assigning them some age appropriate duties. They can be given clear instructions that this is your duty and you are responsible for this. This make kids feel more accountable and keep them busy mentally as well as physically. Ask them to do vacuum, cooking, arrange things in kitchen, organizing the closet and magazine racks, sweeping and decorations.

You can get a few craft kits for the children and they make wonderful Christmas decorations for the home. The kits are available for various ages and are generally very easy to make. Display the art work of your kid and this will give him the much more satisfaction.

During all this hustle and bustle don’t forget to take out some time for your family members. Read a Christmas story to your kids or go out for a nature walk.

Find out time for yourself. Try your best to stick to your fitness regime by eating healthy food and exercising.

Just in case you feel stressed, take a nap or call a friend to have talk. All you can do is to sit at your favorite place in house or outside and sip your favorite drink alone for some time.
