What Type of Reusable Water Bottle is Best?
By Eleni Prokopeas on Dec.14, 2008, under Drinks, Healthy Water
Glass would be our first choice, but we cannot all carry around heavy and shatter-prone glass water bottles everywhere. Alternatives we like are stainless steel and-PBA free polypropylene plastic bottles such as Camelbak and Nalgene. Enviro Products Inc. has a water bottle made from corn resin that is PBA free.
What is the safest and most effective way to sanitize water bottles?
Vinegar or 3% hydrogen peroxide will sanitize water bottles safely. For tough stains, try a baking soda and water paste and scrub.

Choosing a Water Filtering System
By Stacey Stultz on Dec.14, 2008, under Drinks, Healthy Water
You “green clean”, try to feed your family nutritious foods and you want to give your family the purest, healthiest water possible, but with all of the conflicting claims of special water for health and claims of psuedoscientific fraud, how can you possibly choose a water system? The answer lies within two questions: what is healthy water and what do the major water filter systems do?
Healthy water has health promoting ingredients, like naturally occurring minerals and does not contain anything that could prove detrimental like chloroform, cysts, chlorine by-products, pesticides, micro-organisms, nitrites, fluoride, chemical compounds, pharmaceuticals and heavy metals. Some water systems, for taste and health benefits, have a final filter that actually adds minerals that it filtered out. But what about nano resonance, magnetized water, restructuring water or energized water? We feel the jury is still out!
Before choosing a water system, it is best to be familiar with how they work and what they remove. For the purest water, most water systems use a combination of either Reverse Osmosis with Carbon Filter or Water Distillation with Carbon Filter. If your filtration system removes minerals from your water, consider adding the minerals back with a mineral supplement. Once you have a system you like, make sure to change the filters according to the instructions. (continue reading…)
Clean Water, Where to Start?
By Eleni Prokopeas on Dec.14, 2008, under Drinks, Healthy Water
It is best to be familiar with water purification systems and your local municipal or well water in order to make the best choice for your family. You can contact your local water department for most recent water test results or get a well water analysis kit for about $100 online. For the purest water, your home should have a Reverse Osmosis System with Carbon Filter, Water Distillation System with Carbon Filter, or AquaSpace Water System in order to remove nasty substances such as chloroform, cysts, chlorine by-products, pesticides, microorganisms, nitrites, fluoride, chemical compounds, pharmaceuticals and heavy metals.
Prices can vary widely depending on faucet mount, whole house, counter top or under-counter models. Replacement filter prices vary quite a bit, too.
Choosing the best water system to meet your family’s needs can seem like a chore, however, a well thought out decision is one that will serve you and your family well for many years to come.
The Importance of Water for Good Health

Water is the basis of all life. Ultimately there is no fire inside any living organism anywhere so if we look at what is going on in each cell we really see that each cell is a water bag. If we look at every cell in our body, in every plant, in every single living thing, it’s just little water bags of little nutrients. Water is a primary substance of all life. We’ve heard the word hydration before. We know that hydration is critical to being healthy. We found out through Dr. Batmanghelidj’s book, Your Body’s Many Cries for Water, that most people’s hunger pains are actually just thirst pains and if we can get each one of those little water bags hydrated then we’re going to feel a whole lot better and we’re going to detoxify a whole lot faster.
This interview is an excerpt from Kevin Gianni’s Renegade Water Secrets, which can be found at (http://www.renegadewatersecrets.com) .In this excerpt, David Wolfe shares on the importance of water.
Kevin: David, I want to welcome you to this call. For those people who don’t know who you are, why don’t we just start and tell a little bit about how you got to where you are now and then we’ll get into talking about water which is the subject of this conversation.
David: Thanks so much Kevin. I think the subject matter at hand is probably the most critical of any health information out there. A little bit of background. I was born originally on the East coast in New Jersey. Both my parents are medical doctors. I grew up inside the standard medical environment, mostly in my dad’s office actually. I’ve seen that from the inside out that when I was a very young kid, maybe seven years old, we went to California, it was the first time I ate fruit off a tree. I think I became kind of a nature boy from that point on. Eventually when I got out of college I was looking for something to do and I had been doing raw food and developing kind of a diet program as a hobby on the side. Then gradually that became more and more of what I was doing as a career. I stepped out of the legal profession which is where I was headed and the engineering profession, which I was also headed in that direction too and actually into patent law which combines law and engineering. I got into nutrition full time and I’ve been doing that for about 14 or 15 years. (continue reading…)
Bottled Water Is Not So Pure After All
By Green Diva Mom on Dec.12, 2008, under Drinks, Healthy Water, Home Environment
Information provided by Experimental Working Group (EWG)
Bottled water contains disinfection byproducts, fertilizer residue, and pain medication
Bottled Water: Buyer Beware: It’s just what we’ve all suspected - pure, “straight from the mountains” bottled water is not so pure after all. EWG released an industry-rattling report that reveals the dirty truth about bottled water. EWG tested 10 brands and found an alarming array of contaminants, including cancer-causing byproducts of chlorination, fertilizer residue, industrial solvents and even caffeine.
